Meet Juan Carlos Agundez, MFT
When you find the right therapist, therapy is empowering, liberating, and most importantly, healing. We have all experienced emotional suffering, and it is normal to sometimes feel stuck in painful feelings. Often, these feelings we run away from become more difficult because of a disconnection between ourselves and our relationships.
I will collaborate with you in healing past wounds, reconnecting with your most authentic self and creating better relationships. As a trained integrative systemic therapist, I practice from various culturally-sensitive, LGBTQIA-affirming, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to provide a compassionate path for deep and lasting inner healing.
I have worked extensively through the years with individuals, couples, and families who struggle with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, emotional expression, communication difficulties, infidelity, conflict, grief, work/life balance, and career transitions. I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology and English Literature, and a Minor in Theater Arts, from the University of Miami. I have a Juris Doctor from IIT Chicago-Kent. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University. I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies, specializing in Couple and Family Therapy, at Michigan State University.
I am here to support you every step of the way. I consider it a privilege to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself so you can live the life you want to live. I look forward to working with you.
