Meet sam hardy, ALmft
Hi there! My name is Sam (she/her), and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to work with you.
As a therapist, my energy is vibrant, welcoming, and warm. I strive to cultivate a practice that is hopeful and collaborative, infusing compassion and curiosity into every session to support you in achieving your goals. Because I believe that the relationship between the client and therapist is extraordinarily important, I aim to foster a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to explore and express every aspect of yourself. I value and welcome clients of all gender, sexual, racial, and ethnic identities and backgrounds. While the therapeutic process can involve emotional moments of growth, I also seek to provide space for lightheartedness and humor throughout our time together.
Born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Individuals, Societies, & Aging and Forensics & Criminality from the University of Southern California. I completed my graduate education at Northwestern University as a therapist-in-training at the Family Institute, earning a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Some of my individual clinical interests include working with adults to manage anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem issues, life transitions, depression, grief and loss, difficult family relationships, and trauma. I am passionate about helping couples broach complex topics including infidelity, communication, and intimacy issues. Additionally, I have considerable experience working with older adults and families experiencing aging challenges and end of life concerns. I am very interested in supporting older individuals as they process past trauma, combat senior loneliness, and / or encounter evolving medical concerns.
My clinical training is rooted in an Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) approach where different models of therapy are utilized to fit your specific needs. I feel empowered to draw from a variety of therapy models including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My interventions are strengths-based, practical, and personalized to you. As a graduate assistant to Dr. Alexandra Solomon and the current Director of Social Media for her global brand, I am also inspired by her teachings surrounding relational self-awareness. This concept involves cultivating a gentle, curious relationship with oneself in order to foster high-quality, meaningful relationships with others.
I truly look forward to welcoming you into the therapeutic space. Wishing you peace on your healing journey!
