All Therapists
Alana Zucker, AMFT
Hey there! I’m Alana (she/her/hers). I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and requires anything but a cookie-cutter approach. Your choice to seek therapy may not have been an easy one, and I will help to demystify the process in a supportive and affirming environment. As your therapist, I offer an empathetic, encouraging, and safe space in which we will work together to set and achieve your goals. I balance support and comfort with challenge and directness to help shape space for your growth into your best self and/or relationship. I will be your advocate for change throughout our partnership together by empowering, motivating, and pushing you to achieve your goals.
To best meet your needs, I utilize an integrated systemic therapy approach. This means I draw from various types of therapy models to provide a wholistic therapy partnership that meets you where you’re at in this moment and help you create, obtain, and maintain your goals. I also strive to help couples develop and improve interrelationship dynamics to achieve satisfactory and successful relationships.
I offer sessions for individuals, couples, and families. My areas of focus include issues impacting LGBTQ+ people, emerging adults, and “non-traditional” couples, including polyamorous couples. I trained at The Family Institute at Northwestern University where I received my Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy. I’m originally from Ohio, where I studied Human Development and Family Studies and Developmental Disabilities at Bowling Green State University.
I look forward to meeting you, hearing your goals, and starting our partnership towards a more fulfilling and empowering life for you.
